The NASCAR Withdrawals

Every sport goes through an off season. NASCAR is no different being in its off-season right now. One of the things you might have noticed associated with this is a series of uncomfortable feelings. Yes, it's true "The NASCAR Withdrawals" are here. The symptoms of these withdrawals may differ some from person to person but generally include such things as:

  • Every time you hear a car engine start you jump up and begin cheering "MY MOTHER CAN DRIVE FASTER THAN THAT".
  • You find yourself going out, buying NASCAR hot wheels, and driving them around in the dirt.
  • When out with your family, you see a NASCAR shop with their merchandise priced half-off. In a truly adult manner, you stop and calmly throw yourself on the ground kicking and screaming until you get to go in.
  • If you hear the song "I Love NASCAR" you start involuntarily swaying back and fourth. (Note: As a Tony Stewart fan, any song where Jeff Gordon runs up the wall moves me!!)
  • You see that nascar.statleader.com is offering a program, "12 Steps to Get Over The NASCAR Withdrawals" so you take your life savings and signup. It doesn't work.

If you suffer from one or more of these symptoms, you have a lot of company (including yours truly.) This is an incurable addiction to one of the greatest sports on the face of the planet. So come back to nascar.statleader.com and read your little heart out. We may not be able to cure "The NASCAR Withdrawals", but between Mister2, the "old" Doc and I, we can hopefully make the off-season a little less painful.

The Crew Chief

(P.S. Added by Doc Bitters: Not all that "old"!)
